As remakes go this isn't the best and is by no means the worst. Jason Mamoa is well cast as the main role, filling the boots of Arnie's portrayal very capably. The issue faced is the attempt to follow the silly fantasy nonsense that made the original such a classic. Since the 80's and 90's the time for such silliness had passed, it should have taken the darker more serious route that told the basis of the tale. Alas it really doesn't work very well but at least has the factor of being entertaining.
